Anxiety? Anxity is a common misspelling of anxiety.
Anxiety disorders, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder or panic attacks, are illnesses that fill people's lives with overwhelming worry and fear. Regardless of the type, the anxiety that a person feels is typically chronic, unrelenting, and can grow progressively worse. These disorders tend to run in families; this could be a result of genetics, but it could also be related to the environment in which a child was raised. These disorders also tend to occur more often in women than in men.
Fortunately, treatments for these conditions can be effective at any age. Be sure to talk to your healthcare provider if you think you may have an anxiety disorder. Some of the treatment options available include medication and counseling.
