Chlordiazepoxide Hydrochloride Information

Chlordiazepoxide hydrochloride (Librium®) is a drug commonly prescribed for the treatment of anxiety, including anxiety disorders or before surgical procedures. It can also be used to treat symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. The drug has several different effects in the body, which are the result of its mechanism of action. Chlordiazepoxide hydrochloride works by enhancing the effects of GABA, a naturally occurring calming chemical in the brain.
