Ativan? Adavaan is a common misspelling of Ativan.
A healthcare provider may prescribe Ativan® for the treatment of anxiety. The drug is thought to work in by enhancing the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) -- a brain chemical that is naturally calming. Ativan comes in tablet and oral liquid forms. An injectable form is also available. The injectable form of Ativan is used to decrease nervous tension and anxiety, as well as to treat severe seizures (known medically as status epilepticus). People who take too much Ativan could experience overdose symptoms such as sedation, coma, and difficulty breathing.
