Ativan Drug Interactions

Some of the drugs that can potentially react with Ativan include alcohol, anesthetics, and narcotics. Interactions can increase your risk of side effects such as memory loss and confusion, among other things. Be sure to talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about potential drug interactions with Ativan before taking Ativan with another medication.

An Overview of Interactions With Ativan

 Ativan® (lorazepam) can potentially interact with certain other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to interactions include:
 

 

 

  • Barbiturates, including:

 

    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)

 

 

 

  • Probenecid
  • Seizure medications
  • Sleep medications.
