BuSpar and Weight Gain: Final Thoughts

There are many potential side effects of BuSpar. Weight gain is a rare but possible side effect that was reported in between 1 in 100 and 1 in 1,000 people taking the drug. If you are taking BuSpar and weight gain occurs, talk to your healthcare provider so that he or she can recommend lifestyle changes or switch you to another anxiety medication.
