Clonazepam Side Effects

Common Side Effects

Clonazepam has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials in which the side effects of a group of people taking the drug are documented and compared to another group not taking the medicine. As a result, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.
 
In these studies, the most common side effects of clonazepam included:
 
  • Drowsiness -- in up to 50 percent of people
  • Coordination problems -- up to 30 percent
  • Behavior problems -- up to 25 percent
  • Dizziness -- up to 12 percent
  • Upper respiratory tract infections (such as the common cold) -- up to 10 percent.

Other Possible Side Effects

There are other possible clonazepam side effects. These were not among the most commonly reported side effects (although the exact percentage of people that developed these side effects was not reported). These side effects included:
