Available by prescription, clonazepam is a drug that is used to treat panic disorder and epileptic seizures. The drug belongs to a class of medications called benzodiazepines. These medications are used to reduce anxiety, cause sleepiness, and relax muscles. Clonazepam is available as a tablet or a wafer (an orally disintegrating tablet) that can be taken with or without food. The wafers will dissolve rapidly in the mouth, without any need for water.
