Who Should Not Take Compazine?

You should not take Compazine if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Compazine, prochlorperazine maleate, or any inactive ingredients used in making Compazine. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Are younger than two years old or weigh less than 20 pounds. Also, Compazine should not be used to treat nausea and vomiting in surgery for children.
     
  • Are taking large doses of medications or substances that cause significant drowsiness (see Compazine Drug Interactions).
