Effexor ER

Were you looking for information about
Effexor RX? Effexor ER is a common misinterpreted name for Effexor XR.

Drug companies will often attach ER to the end of a drug name to indicate that it is an extended release drug. However, in the case of Effexor®, the manufacturer (Wyeth) attached an XR, which is another abbreviation for extended release. Therefore, there is no Effexor ER.
