Effexor SR

 Effexor XR? Effexor SR is a common misinterpreted name of Effexor XR.
 
Oftentimes, drug companies attach SR to the end of a drug name to indicate that it is a sustained release version. However, in the case of the prescription drug Effexor®, Wyeth (the manufacturer) attached an XR to the drug name, which means it is an extended release drug. Therefore, there is no Effexor SR available for sale.
