Effexor XR Warnings and Precautions

Some Effexor XR warnings and precautions to be aware of include potential drug interactions, the risk of increased blood pressure or heart rate in some people taking Effexor XR, and the safety of taking this medicine if you have glaucoma. Among the people who should not take this drug are those who have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the past two weeks. A few of the conditions you should let your healthcare provider know about prior to taking Effexor XR include high blood pressure, kidney problems, and liver disease.

  • Are breastfeeding
  • Drink alcohol regularly.
     
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you may be currently taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
