Fluoxetine? Fluxetina is a common misspelling of fluoxetine.
A healthcare provider may prescribe fluoxetine (Prozac®) to help treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, or bulimia. The drug belongs to a class of medications known as SSRIs, or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. It blocks the reuptake of serotonin in the brain when levels become unbalanced. Fluoxetine is available in capsule and liquid form, and is generally taken once or twice a day.
