Fluvoxamine

A healthcare provider may prescribe fluvoxamine to treat adults, teens, and children who have obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Fluvoxamine helps alleviate the symptoms of OCD by allowing a certain chemical (serotonin) to stay in the brain for a longer period of time. The medication comes in a tablet form and is generally taken once or twice a day. The fluvoxamine dosage your healthcare provider prescribes will depend on several factors, such as your age, existing medical conditions you may have, and other medications you may be taking.
