There are currently no generic Luvox CR (fluvoxamine CR) products available in the United States. Until the patent for the medication expires in February 2011, other drug companies cannot manufacture any generic versions. Luvox^® CR (fluvoxamine CR) is a prescription medication used to treat social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It belongs to a group of medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

Luvox CR is made by Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. At this time, no generic Luvox CR is available.

When Will Generic Luvox CR Be Available?

Jazz Pharmaceuticals holds the exclusive rights to market Luvox CR in the United States until at least February 2011. However, situations could arise to extend or shorten the exclusivity period of the medication. This could include such things as lawsuits or other patents for specific Luvox CR uses.

Is Fluvoxamine a Type of Generic Luvox CR?
