Medications That React With Luvox CR

Intravenous Methylene Blue
Taking Luvox CR with intravenous methylene blue can increase your chance of developing dangerous side effects, including serotonin syndrome. Do not take these medications together.
  
Linezolid (Zyvox)
Combining Luvox CR with a linezolid can cause a group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Serotonin syndrome may cause:
 
  • Confusion
  • Hallucinations
  • Muscle spasms
  • Diarrhea
  • Difficulty walking.
 
Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of serotonin syndrome, as it can be quite dangerous.
 
Lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid)
Taking Luvox CR with lithium can cause a group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any possible symptoms, as it can be quite dangerous.
 
Methadone (Dolophine, Methadose)
Luvox CR can increase the level of methadone in your blood, possibly increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your methadone dose when you are starting or stopping Luvox CR.
 
Metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL)
Luvox CR can increase the level of metoprolol in your blood, perhaps increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of metoprolol to prevent this interaction from occurring.
