Side Effects of Luvox CR

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Luvox CR. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.

Some of the most common side effects include but are not limited to:

Nausea

Headaches
Drowsiness

Drug Interactions

Luvox CR can potentially interact with a number of other medications (see Luvox CR Interactions).

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider Before Taking Luvox CR?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking this drug if you have:

Bipolar disorder or a family history of bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression)
A history of suicide attempts or suicidal thoughts
A recent history of heart attack or have unstable heart disease
Seizures or epilepsy
Liver disease, including liver failure or cirrhosis
Any allergies, including allergies to food, dyes, or preservatives.

Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:

A smoker
Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant (see Luvox CR and Pregnancy)
Breastfeeding (see Luvox CR and Breastfeeding).

Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
