Anxiety Home > Luvox CR Medication Information

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can often be successfully treated with the medication Luvox® CR (fluvoxamine CR). This drug comes in the form of a capsule and is usually taken once a day, preferably at bedtime. In clinical studies, people saw an improvement in their OCD symptoms within 12 weeks, but the drug probably starts working sooner than that.

Before beginning treatment with Luvox CR, inform your healthcare provider about all other medicines, supplements, and vitamins you are taking. In addition, discuss any other medical conditions you have or that you have a family history of. This will help ensure that your OCD is being treated in the safest, most effective way possible for you.

(Click Luvox CR for more information on this medication, including how it works, whether a generic version is available, and if women can take it when pregnant or breastfeeding.)
