Niravam Dosage

When treating anxiety disorder with Niravam, the initial dosage is typically 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg three times daily. For the treatment of panic disorder, the amount is generally higher. However, a healthcare provider will consider several factors before prescribing this drug, such as your age, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are taking.

An Introduction to Dosing With Niravam

The dosage of Niravam® (orally disintegrating alprazolam) your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
 
  • Your age
  • The reason you are taking it
  • Other medical conditions you may have
  • Other medications you are taking.
 
As is always the case, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.
 

Niravam Dosage for Anxiety Disorder

The initial Niravam dose for treating
 anxiety disorder is usually 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg three times a day. Your healthcare provider may increase this amount, if needed, to control your anxiety symptoms. It is recommended that doses be increased no more often than every three to four days. The maximum recommended dosage for treating anxiety disorder is Niravam 4 mg a day.
 
If you experience uncomfortable Niravam side effects, your healthcare provider may slowly decrease your dose. In general, it is recommended that dosages be decreased by no more than 0.5 mg every three days.
