Niravam Drug Interactions

Some of the products that can potentially react with Niravam include alcohol, antidepressants, and sleep medications. Some of these Niravam drug interactions can increase your risk for side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, or memory loss. To avoid potential complications, tell your healthcare provider about any other prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking.

An Overview of Interactions With Niravam

 Niravam® (orally disintegrating alprazolam) is a medication approved for treating anxiety and panic disorder. It can potentially react with several other medications.
 
Some of the drugs that may interact with Niravam include but are not limited to:
 
  • Alcohol
  • Central nervous system (CNS) depressants, such as:
 
 
  • CYP 3A4 inducer medications, such as:
 
 
  • CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
 
 
  • Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), such as:
 
 
  • Theophylline (Uniphyl®, Theochron®, TheoCap®, Theo-24®, Elixophyllin®).
