Paxil® (paroxetine hydrochloride) dose for treating various conditions of the brain is Paxil 20 mg tablets once daily (usually in the morning). However, the dose of Paxil your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, such as your age, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are currently taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements).
The starting dose for treating panic disorder and for elderly people or people with liver or kidney problems is typically lower: Paxil 10 mg once daily. Your healthcare provider may choose to increase the Paxil dosage if symptoms continue, or decrease the dose if side effects occur.
It usually takes several weeks (perhaps even more than a month) before feeling the beneficial effects of Paxil. Try not to be discouraged if the medication does not work right away for you.
