It is impossible for your healthcare provider to know whether you will develop insomnia while taking Paxil. Also, in some cases, if a person does develop insomnia while taking Paxil, it is difficult to know whether these problems are caused by the condition being treated with Paxil, or whether the problems are caused by the medicine itself; insomnia is common with a number of conditions that Paxil treats. For example, a number of people with depression report experiencing insomnia.

 

If you develop insomnia while taking Paxil, make sure to talk with your healthcare provider. There are other treatments that he or she may be able to recommend, including adjusting the Paxil dosage or trying another medicine.
