Paxil Dangers

Although most people tolerate Paxil® (paroxetine hydrochloride) well, it is not free of dangerous risks. Because this medication is not suitable for everyone, make sure you talk to your healthcare provider about possible Paxil dangers that may apply to you. For instance, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medical conditions you may have and any other medications you are taking before starting treatment with Paxil. Although side effects of Paxil tend to be minor, there are some serious side effects of the medication that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider right away if you experience problems such as hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, or a fast heart rate.
 
Other Paxil warnings apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as people who have certain allergies (including allergies to foods, dyes, or preservatives). Also, you may not be able to take Paxil if you have certain medical conditions, such as diabetes, epilepsy, or bipolar disorder.
