As with any selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, it is possible to develop withdrawal symptoms if you stop taking Paxil® (paroxetine hydrochloride) too quickly. Withdrawal from Paxil can cause symptoms such as insomnia, a burning or tingling sensation, dizziness, and irritability. These symptoms generally improve over time, without the need for any treatment. In order to help prevent withdrawal symptoms, your healthcare provider may wean you off the medication slowly.
