How Common Is Weight Loss With Sarafem?
Clinical studies of Sarafem have shown that up to 12 percent of women taking Sarafem experienced significant weight loss (7 percent of their body weight or more). Weight loss was more common in women taking Sarafem 60 mg per day and was less common in women taking Sarafem 20 mg per day. Only 3 percent of women not taking Sarafem experienced significant weight loss.
Why Does Sarafem Cause Weight Loss?
It is not entirely clear as to why Sarafem causes weight loss. Sarafem can often cause a loss of appetite and nausea, which may contribute to weight loss. Often, these side effects go away with time.
