Sarafem for PMDD

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking this medication if you have:

Bipolar disorder or a family history of bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression)
A history of suicide attempts or suicidal thoughts
Had a recent heart attack or if you have heart disease
Diabetes
Seizures or epilepsy
Suicidal thoughts
Liver disease, including liver failure or cirrhosis
Any allergies, including allergies to food, dyes, or preservatives.

Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:

Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant (see Sarafem and Pregnancy)
Breastfeeding (see Sarafem and Breastfeeding).

Tell your healthcare provider about all of the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

What If I Take an Overdose?

People who take too much Sarafem may have overdose symptoms that could include:

Confusion
Nervousness
Breathing problems
Dizziness
Shakiness
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Low blood pressure (hypotension)
Strange behavior
An irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia)
Fever
Fainting
Coma
Loss of life.

If you happen to overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
