Valium Risks

Although many people do not experience any problems while taking
 Valium® (diazepam), this medication is not free of risks. Some of the most common risks with Valium include:
 
  • Drowsiness
  • Fatigue
  • Coordination problems.
     
While most problems with this medication are minor, there are some potentially serious ones that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience problems such as depression, suicidal thoughts, or difficulty breathing.
 
Other warnings and precautions apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as people who have certain allergies. Also, you may not be able to take Valium if you have certain medical conditions, such as depression, glaucoma, or liver disease.
