Xanax Risks

Xanax® (alprazolam) is a medication often prescribed for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder.
As a controlled substance, Xanax can cause psychological and physical dependence and has the potential to be abused. The risk of abuse and dependence is greater for those taking higher Xanax doses for long periods of time (more than a few weeks).
There are also a number of side effects that you should look out for while taking Xanax. Some of the most common side effects that have been reported with this medication during clinical studies include memory and coordination problems, fatigue, irritability, and increased appetite.
