Zoloft Xanax Drug Interactions

Xanax® (alprazolam) could interact with a number of medications, including antidepressants such as Zoloft. Drug interactions with Xanax are potentially dangerous and may lead to many problems.

For example, taking Zoloft in combination with Xanax can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. More serious side effects are also possible. Additionally, many antidepressants can raise the level of Xanax in your blood, which further increases your risk of developing side effects. Make sure to talk with your healthcare provider before taking Xanax with an antidepressant, as you may need to be monitored more closely and may need a lower Xanax dose.
